The Bible was written to give man a knowledge of God. The information it contains provides man with a basis for faith. True faith is the foundation or starting place to become a Christian. To have a real and active faith, one must learn vital facts about God, accept them as the truth, and put them into action in his life.
God communicates with man through the Bible alone, so we must know the Bible to understand what God is saying. He does not talk to us in the same manner as He did Moses, the prophets or apostles. Prophecies, tongues and supernatural knowledge have ceased. God will not send an angel or prophet or give you an emotional experience to tell you His truth. He uses the Bible to teach, train, and instruct.
Miracles are discussed rather casually in the New Testament. The writers make little effort to prove they were real but assume the reader believes it. Miracles that Jesus and others performed were never denied. Our purpose in this lesson will be to help the reader see the difference between a real supernatural miracle of the first century, and the fake miracles of the twentieth century.
There are thousands of churches in our world today. Each one is different, yet all claim to know and practice true religion. It is commonly believed by people around the world that God doesn't care which church a person chooses, what one believes or how one worships, so long as he accepts Christ as his Savior. What does God think about man's opinions? Does He give man a variety of religions, all different, and let us take our choice? Will God be understanding and allow everyone into heaven, regardless of what he believes? According to the Bible, the answer is NO.
In this lesson you will learn how God saves man from sin. After seeing the evidence from God's Word, you must decide what you will do with God's salvation. It will be the most important decision of your entire life.
If we arm ourselves with the facts and evidences that are available within its pages, it will prove that only God could have written such an amazing book known as the Bible. In your search for the facts, don't stop with this article. It only scratches the surface of what God wants you to know.
