Activities and Events
Bible BowlThe mission of the Bible Bowl program is to facilitate and encourage a greater understanding of the Bible and to facilitate and encourage the building of positive fellowship of the churches of Christ in the Kansas City area. This year's Bible Bowl was held again in February, 2007. With our third year under our belt, we hope you will set aside the last Saturday in February to be part of it with us. For more information, please visit the Heartland Bible Bowl pages. Annual Area Wide Ladies' RetreatPeriodically the ladies of the East Independence Church of Christ sponsor the Area Wide Ladies retreat. You'll have the opportunity to help in many areas of preparation, teaching, or just in group participation. And, you'll get to meet many Christian women from the surrounding communities as you share in a day of fun, devotion, praise and growth. Ladies' DayOver the last several years the ladies of the East Independence Church of Christ have sponsored a day for the area ladies to get together, worship God, and study the Bible. A Ladies Day is planned on years where other major Church events are not planned (i.e. campaigns, or Ladies Retreat Sponsorship). For details about the next Ladies Day, contact the Church Secretary at 816-461-0266 or lhenley@eicoc.org. This is an exciting event we know will bring joy and growth to your Christian walk.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)A popular event with teachers and children alike, the VBS ministry provides sound Biblical teaching to the youth of the Church and community. A wide array of talent is displayed by participating teachers and leaders as rooms are decorated in scaled 3D themes to help the student better visualize the topics of discussion. Each year VBS teachers and leaders spend in excess of 3 weeks of design, construction and decoration of classrooms and fellowship area. Check out our VBS Pages from this year and years past. It is an experience that won't soon be forgotten by our yearly participants!

Children's Singing
The first Sunday Evening of each month, Mitch Rush leads the children of the congregation in a series of Christian songs. This period is designed to not only teach the young of our congregation new songs, but the lessons and principals behind the songs. As a time of Praise, the children enjoy the experience of lifting their voices to God with songs they learned from Bible Camp, VBS and weekly classes. Bring your children and join in the fun, praise and honoring of our God and Savior.
Monthly FellowshipEach month the East Independence Church of Christ has a fellowship (usually involving food!) where have opportunity for excellent one-on-one conversation with fellow Christians and visitors. VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME! And you don't need to bring a thing. Come and join us for great food and conversation.
