Dates and Times Graduation Thursday May 24th, 2007 * Dates and times apply to the 2006-2007 school year and are subject to change. AttendanceWe at Great Beginnings Preschool ask that you please be as regular in attendance as possible. This fosters your child's adjustment and he/she will learn more through consistency in curriculum for the entire year. In case of bad weather, we will follow Independence Public Schools dismissals or in the event there is another hindrance (such as the parking lot) you will be contacted by one of the preschool teachers. Sick ChildrenOut of consideration for other children, please keep your children home if: · They have cold symptoms. (Many contagious diseases start with cold symptoms.) · If your child has been sick the night before preschool · No medication can be given at school Progress ReportsAt our parent/teacher conference we will discuss your child's progress and your expectations, and we will send home a progress report at the end of the school year. * This is due the first preschool session of each month and the full amount is due regardless of the number of days your child is able to attend. SuppliesPlease print your child's name clearly on all items before sending them to school. Children should wear play clothes and rubber soled shoes. · School box (approx. 5" x 7") · 4 oz. bottle of school glue · Children's Fiskars scissors · Short Sleeve Paint Shirt (something paint will not leak through) · Box of 8 large crayons · Box of 8 washable markers · Primary pencil · Large tote or backpack PartiesWe have Fall, Christmas, Valentines, and Spring parties. The mothers provide refreshments and plan the activities. Library/Computer DayEach class spends 30 minutes every Tuesday in our Library/Computer Room. Each child checks out one book (to be returned the following week) and spends time playing educational computer games. Parental InvolvementWe believe that it is important for the parents and teachers to share together in your child's preschool experience. In an effort to accomplish this we: · Have an open house prior to the first day of school. · Have a Parent/Teacher conference in November. · Have a Father's Night in January. · Have a Mother's Tea in March. · Invite you to go on our Field Trips. · Welcome your suggestions, visits and involvement at any time. |
