Youth Activities

The East Independence Church of Christ Youth Group is comprised of dedicated and God-loving teenagers. Their loyalty to one another is surpassed only by their loyalty to God. It is this kind of devotion that binds the group into a close knit second family. The group is made up of Junior High and High school kids, from age 13 to seniors in high school. With some exceptions, the kids all participate in activities together, thus promoting unity in the group. Age differences don't interfere with the strong relationships that are formed.

We have a standing Monday night Bible study in the home of one of our members. The teens have come to rely on this study as a focal point of their week and a building block for furthering their relationships with each other and God. The Bible study is every Monday at 7:00PM. In addition to our Monday Night Bible Studies, we have devotionals at the homes of some of the members at least once a month.

The Youth are active with area congregations and support other area church's Youth Rallies.

The teens are not only active within themselves, they are vital part of our congregation. Their role in Vacation Bible School is invaluable. They help with every part- from decorating to teaching to being involved with the skits. Every summer the group takes part in a large activity.

This involved the teens working together to climb one of Colorado's mountains. Trek has been one of our most successful activities in promoting spiritual growth.

The Youth group is very active in a wide range in activities. We travel to the Tulsa International Soul Winning Workshop every year in March. It is a great opportunity to fellowship with hundreds of other Christians and gives the teens a sense of the bond we share with so many others in the country.

The Youth group here at East Independence are working toward the same goal- learning and living for God. We welcome anyone who feels that they have a void to fill in their lives. If you come, God will fill it.
